Nylon shock cords are prone to damage from the ejection charge or abrasion along the mouth of the rocket tube. One way to limit this damage is to use a Kevlar sleeve. This braided Kevlar sleeve is very light weight and easily expands and contracts to fit a wide range of shock cord sizes.
We recommend using tape to secure the ends. This limits the sleeve unbraiding and keeps the sleeve in place.
